Business Development Manager - London

Tired of selling outdated and legacy IT/Telecoms solutions? Why not come and work for one of the fastest growing and innovative Unified Communications and Trader Voice providers in the UK.  Reporting to the Sales Director, the Business Development Manager’s role will be to win business to enable you to achieve a recurring revenue and gross profit target, aiding company growth. This will involve the sales process of the following products: Trader Voice, Skype for Business, Hosted PBX Phone Systems, Call Recording, Headsets, Handsets, Audio-Visual equipment and Room Systems. This is not an exhaustive list; as new products and services enter the product portfolio, you will also be supporting and promoting them.

Key responsibilities and accountability:

  • Identify potential customers and decision makers within customers’ companies.
  • Prospect for potential customers and convert into new business.
  • Cold call as appropriate to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities.
  • Meet potential customers by growing, maintaining and leveraging your network.
  • Research and build relationships with potential new customers and partners.
  • Plan, deliver and improve approaches and pitches.
  • Develop proposals that encompass customers’ needs, concerns and objectives.
  • Accurately price the solution/service within the given commercial parameters.
  • Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion.
  • Use a variety of styles to persuade or negotiate appropriately.
  • Win business.
  • Present an image that mirrors that of the customer.
  • Present to and consult with senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels.
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.
  • Use knowledge of the market and competitors to identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
  • Submit weekly progress reports and ensure data is accurate.
  • Ensure that data is accurately entered and managed within the company’s CRM.
  • Forecast sales targets and ensure they are achieved.
  • Work with all departments to ensure that sale prerequisites are fulfilled within a timely manner.
  • Understand the company’s goal and purpose
  • Adhere to health and safety policy, and other requirements relating to care of equipment.

Experience/Qualifications/Education/Technical Skills

Essential:

  • Financial Services sector
  • Face-to-face and distance selling to all levels within all business profiles
  • Managing the day-to-day activities of sales opportunities
  • Capable of selling multiple products
  • Proven track record of Commercial acumen
  • Knowledge of Microsoft product stack and the telecommunications industry
  • B2B experience

Desirable:

  • PBX Phones Systems Knowledge

Personal skills/Other job skills

Essential:   

  • Effective communication skills, including negotiation skills
  • Ability to sell ethically and promote the values of the company
