British GT Championship 2019

VIA has proudly sponsored Jack Mitchell throughout his 2019 British GT3 Championship. Jack claimed the 2018 GT4 crown with Century MotorSport and returned, newly sponsored by VIA, for the 2019 British GT Championship after graduating to the the Pro/Am GT3 crew in the BMW M6 GT3.

After seven long months of dark nights, Oulton Park hosted the first race of the 2019 British GT Championship as it awoke from its winter hibernation for its traditional springtime supercar season opener.

Oulton Park saw two rounds of racing for Jack and his co-driver Adrian Willmott. For race 1 Jack qualified in P7 and finished in P6. In race 2 the pair qualified in P8, finishing in P9. After Jack's co-driver, Adrian Willmott, sustained a neck injury at Oulton Park, he was prevented from racing in the remaining races.

British GT Snetterton

For Snetterton in May Tom Gamble joined Jack in a silver/silver pairing. The classification change from Pro/Am to Silver Cup meant the pair carried an extra 60kg of weight in the car as a penalty. Qualifying in pole position the extra weight proved tough to handle with the pair finishing race 1 in 11th and race 2 in 9th.

Round 5 at Silverstone in June was a tough one! Jack had another new pairing with JM Littman. Littman was no stranger to endurance GT racing, he made his debut at the 'Donington Decider' at the end the 2018 championship; the pair were revved up and hoping to bag some points for the team. Qualifying in P12, the BMW began to cause the pair problem after problem. Several mechanical faults resulted in the pair being unable to race in round 5, despite the tremendous efforts of all the BMW and Century MotorSport engineers.

Littman made a return at Donington Park in June with the pair qualifying in P12. Round 6 showcased the season's first 2-hour race where the pair finished in P13.

Round 7 was the only round held outside the UK, at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium in July. Qualifying in P15 Jack had a fierce battle and climbing his way through the pack to finish in P11.

British GT Brands Hatch

Brands Hatch was up next in August. A final change of driver to Angus Fender proved to be the change the team needed. Angus' promotion from Century’s BMW M4 GT4 to the M6 GT3 paid immediate dividends at Brands Hatch where the pair scored BMW’s first overall British GT podium since 2016. Qualifying in P5 the pair finished on the podium in P3, a fantastic result with some well earned points.

The pair continued for the final round, round 9 at Donington Park in September. The previous podium finish at Brands Hatch served the pair with a 10 second Pitstop Success Penalty. But that didn't hinder their continued success, with another podium finish in P3! Jack and Angus finish the 2019 Championship with an impressive 100% paired podium finish under their belts.

Overall Jack finished in 10th in his first ever GT3 Championship, with two podium finishes.

VIA proudly sponsored and support Jack throughout his 2019 British Championship, cheering him on at every race. We hosted our own stand, interacting with fans and keeping the energy and support high throughout every race day.

During the final race at Donington we extended an invitation to all our current customers and the response and request for tickets was huge! A lucky few were randomly selected and enjoyed the day with our team. Our guests were given special access to the garage, the opportunity to get up close and personal with the car, meet Jack and skip the never-ending queue for the pit stop walk. We've had some fantastic comments and have some very happy customers who thoroughly enjoyed the day. Continue scrolling for some great photos from the final race day as well as a great feature from a budding motorsport photographer, Charlie Robson.

Thank-you very much for the invitation to Donington. Pernilla and I had a fantastic time and it was great to meet Jack and Angus. It's quite mind-boggling that Angus had his first day at Uni the next day! To find out that the two drivers are driving so well in the British GT Championship at their young age is an eye-opener. We had a good chat with both Angus' and Jack's Mums and they were both clearly very proud of their sons. It was nice of Jack to spare us some time to talk as well. The technology in the cars was fascinating. Thanks again, it was a great day out!

It was a great day out. The opportunity to meet Jack and look around the car was really exciting. It’s was Arlo’s (my son) first experience of motorsport. The cars, the noise and the atmosphere all made it a really a really intoxicating and exciting day out.

Charlie Robson came as a guest of VIA to the final race at Donington Park in September. Charlie is a fantastic budding motorsport photographer and we are thrilled to be able to showcase his photography. See more of his work and follow him here 📸 @chxrl1er

Being a guest for VIA was amazing, the service was amazing and the opportunity to have a tour around the garage and to meet the driver, Jack, made the day better. I have been doing Automotive photography for just over 3 years now and love it. It is the most satisfying feeling capturing a smooth shot. What I enjoy the most is, is meeting new people and capturing images for them that they can then use for their company or individual use. Being able to provide VIA with these images felt amazing as it gave me an opportunity to showcase my work and also an opportunity to provide a great company with photos that they can now use for their social media etc. Thanks for a great day VIA!
